Dr. Hilary Hozey recently joined the New Beginnings Pediatrics team. She received her BS from Wofford College and her MD from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Columbia. She did her residency at Prisma Health Midlands Children’s Hospital in Columbia, SC. Dr. Hozey is trained in neonatal resuscitation and pediatric advanced life support. She specializes in newborn care. She chose pediatrics because children are such a joy to be around. She says they are the most resilient patients and nothing is better than seeing a child feel better. She also enjoys making connections with the family as a whole, which is unique specifically to pediatrics. She was born and raised in South Carolina, but she’s so happy to be in Blacksburg! Dr. Hozey feels lucky to be able to call this place her new home and lucky to be able to treat her patients. She loves the Blacksburg area, particularly in the fall, and looks forward to some snow! She loves to spend her time with her family outdoors and with the close-knit community. She enjoys collecting and listening to old records, going to sporting events and decorating her home.
