Dr. Nyaz Ali

Dr. Nyaz Ali

“One of my favorite things about my job as a pediatrician is the opportunity to have fun every day while building lifelong relationships with my patients and their families.”

Dr. Nyaz Ali received her medical degree from Hawler Medical University in Iraq. In 2017, she received her Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Certification to complete her medical training in the United States. Dr. Ali completed her Pediatric Residency Program at Carilion Children’s Hospital through the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine Pediatric Residency Program in 2021. She became board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in December 2021.

Taking care of children has always been Dr. Ali’s favorite thing to do. She really enjoys every minute she spends with her patients and their families. Dr. Ali believes that as a pediatrician, she has the responsibility to set kids up for success and, in turn, has a significant impact on families. But Dr. Ali thinks the most rewarding thing about pediatrics is just working with kids and seeing them grow up healthy. She knows building relationships is both essential and rewarding for both the provider and the patients.

Dr. Ali grew up in the Kurdistan region of Iraq before moving to the United States. She considers southwestern Virginia her home. She enjoys the many outdoor experiences, the beautiful mountains and the friendly people. Outside of the office, Dr. Ali likes spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, watching movies and walking outdoors.
